Bishop of the Upper Shire of the Anglican Church in Malawi, Brighton Malasa said his church will have a retreat at Chilema followed by special prayers at Chinamwali.
Bishop Dr Joseph Bvumbwe of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi (ELCM) said the prayers at the cathedral started on Christmas eve.
“Apart from these usual Christmas Prayers on Christmas Day, women from the church will gather for Bible Study at one of their branches where they will have teachings concerning the birth of Jesus Christ,” said Bvumbwe.
Bvumbwe said Celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ is the main theme of the Birth of Jesus Christ.
The Catholic Church throughout the country started celebrating the day with a holy evening mass on Christmas Eve as is tradition and Christmas services on Saturday. n
